What is a Black Hole?

A black hole is a region of space in which the gravitational field is so powerful that nothing, including electromagnetic radiation (for example visible light), can escape its pull after having fallen past its event horizon. The term derives from the fact that absorption of visible light renders the hole's interior invisible, and indistinguishable from the black space around it.

Despite its invisible interior, a black hole may reveal its presence through interaction with matter orbiting the event horizon. For example, a black hole may be perceived by tracking the movement of a group of stars that orbit its center.
Alternatively, one may observe gas (from a nearby star, for instance) that has been drawn into the black hole. The gas spirals inward, heating up to very high temperatures and emitting large amounts of radiation that can be detected from earthbound and earth-orbiting telescopes. Such observations have resulted in the general scientific consensus that—barring a breakdown in our understanding of nature—black holes do exist in our universe.

The idea of an object with gravity strong enough to prevent light from escaping was proposed in 1783 by John Michell an amateur British astronomer. In 1795, Pierre-Simon Laplace, a French physicist independently came to the same conclusion. However, such "Newtonian black holes" are very different from black holes in general relativity. They prevent only light from escaping (not, for example, a rocket ship) and only in certain Newtonian models of light (such as an emission theory).

Black holes, as currently understood, are described by the general theory of relativity. This theory predicts that when a large enough amount of
mass is present in a sufficiently small region of space, all paths through space are warped inwards towards the center of the volume, preventing all matter and radiation within it from escaping.

While general relativity describes a black hole as a region of empty space with a point-like singularity at the center and an event horizon at the outer edge, the description changes when the effects of quantum mechanics are taken into account. Research indicates that, rather than holding captured matter forever, black holes may slowly leak a form of thermal energy called Hawking radiation and may well have a finite life. The as yet unknown theory of quantum gravity is believed to give the fully correct description of black holes.

Hyangwonjeong - Gyeongbok Goong

Gyeongbokgung also known as Gyeongbok Palace is a palace located in northern Seoul, South Korea. It was the main and largest palace of the Joseon Dynasty and one of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty.
The palace was originally constructed in 1394 by King Taejo and "Gyeongbokgung" was named by minister Jeong Do-jeon. Gyeongbokgung was continuously expanded during the reign of King Taejong and King Sejong the Great, but part of the palace was burnt down during the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592-1598).
I really want to visit Gyeongbokgung. It is a very wonderful place and for me it should be included in 7 New Wonders of the World. The Palace was established to perserve Korean Culture over thousand of years.

My Favorite Girl Band

S.H.E

S.H.E is a Taiwanese girl group whose members are Selina Ren, Hebe Tian, and Ella Chen. The name of the group is an alphabetism derived from the first letter of each member's name. Since releasing their first album Girls Dorm (2001), S.H.E has recorded 10 albums with sales totalling over 4.5 million, and set ticketing records in each of their two concert tours. The group has acted in seven drama series, hosted two variety shows, and contributed 10 songs to six drama soundtracks. S.H.E has endorsed more than 30 companies and products, including Coca-Cola and World of Warcraft. Thanks largely to S.H.E's success, other Taiwanese record labels began forming their own girl groups.
In 2000, Ren, Tian and Chen signed up for a singing contest, and the winner, Ren, was awarded a record contract. Tian and Chen, who were both finalists, joined Ren to form S.H.E. The trio frequently covers songs by other artists, and performs original compositions. The group produces albums under the HIM International Music label. Avex Asia distributed S.H.E's music in Hong Kong, but transferred this role to WOW Music in 2007. EMI Music China is the distributor in Singapore and the People's Republic of Chinal.

Biography

Chen Chia-Hwa (陳嘉樺), more commonly credited as Ella, is the oldest member of the Taiwanese girl group S.H.E. Her name 'Ella', which means courage, was given after the personality test given by HIM Management Co. Ella was born in June 1981, making her the oldest member of the Chinese pop group S.H.E. She likes playing basketball and usually plays the sport with other Taiwanese celebrities like Jay Chou for example. Ella is known for her down-to-earth, kind, and humourous personality. In 2007, she was voted by online fans as Taiwan's most unpretentious artist. Out of the three members of S.H.E, Ella is the most outspoken. And although her tomboyish nature usually leads people to believe she resembles a man, but in 2007, she was voted the Number 1 Beauty in Taiwan for her unique and natural beauty. An online poll also revealed that fans believed she would look the sexiest in a bikini, beating Hei Se Hui's Xiao Xun, Landy Wen, and even Jolin Tsai.
On August 8, 2000, HIM International Music held a "Universal 2000 Talent and Beauty Girl Contest". When Ella and her younger brother went to Taipei for a holiday, Ella's older sister had registered her for the competition. She was very intimidated by the long line of contestants, and she almost gave up before the first round - however, her sister convinced her to stay. Her unique voice caught the label's attention and helped to keep her in the competition through to the final round. The name Ella was chosen by the record company following a personality test of the singer. It represents 'courage'. Ella finished high school but didn't go to university because of her love and passion for music. Her voice, even though in the alto range, was commended for its strong and beautiful nature.

Crystal Liu Yi Fei

Liu yi fei

Chinese name: 劉亦菲
Chinese name: 刘亦菲
Birth name: An Feng (安風)
Born: August 25, 1987 (age 21)
Wuhan, China
Other name(s): Liu Ximeizi (劉茜美子)Crystal Liu

BIO

Born at Tongji Hospital in Wuhan, China, Liu's birthname was An Feng (traditional Chinese: 安風; simplified Chinese: 安风). Her father An Shaokang (Chinese: 安少康), a 1st Secretary in the Chinese Embassy in France, was a university French Language professor while her mother was a dancer and a stage performer. They divorced when she was 7 years old. After her parents' divorce, Liu lived with her mother, Liu Xiao Li (traditional Chinese: 劉曉莉; simplified Chinese: 刘晓莉) and her name was changed to Liu Xi Mei Zi. She began modelling at the age of 8 and was trained in singing, dancing and the piano. Moving to the United States at 10 with her mother, Liu lived there for four years. In those four years she went to Louis Pasteur Middle School. She returned to China in June 2002 to pursue an acting career and adopted her stage name Liu Yi Fei. In September 2002, she was accepted into the Performance Institute of Beijing Film Academy at the age of 15. She graduated from the Beijing Film Academy in July 2006.

Career

Immediately following her admittance into Beijing Film Academy, Liu received offers to star in various television drama serials. Her first role on television was in The Story of a Noble Family. Shortly after, she was chosen to portray the role of "Wang Yuyan" in Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, a drama based on the same-titled novel by the acclaimed
wuxia writer, Jinyong. In Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, Yifei's part was first given to Liu Tao. However, after 15-year-old Liu Yifei was spotted, she was given the role of "Wang Yuyan" and Liu Tao was cast as "A Zhu". It was this role that established her fame in China. Her fame was further enhanced through her starring role in the 2004 drama series adaptation of the video game, The Legend of Sword and Fairy.
In 2006, Liu starred in another television production based on a book by Jinyong,
The Return of the Condor Heroes. After intense speculation on who would get the role of "Xiaolongnü", the part was finally offered to her. She was backed by Jinyong. who felt that she had all the necessary qualities to play the role of the young and innocent "Xiaolongnü".Although the drama serials she has acted in were well-received, the movies she starred in did poorly in terms of box office takings with the exception of The Forbidden Kingdom which had a budget of $55,000,000 and had a theatrical gross of $111,604,290. More revenue is expected as The Forbidden Kingdom has been released in the DVD and blu-ray formats on September 9, 2008 in the United States.
She appeared in
Jimmy Lin Chih Ying's music video of the song "I Am Still Waiting For You" (我还在等你) from his 2006 album Can't Stop Me (挡不住我). She has also previously starred in a television series (Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils).

In conjunction with her acting career, Liu obtained a recording contract with Sony Music Entertainment Japan in August 2005 and has studied singing and dancing in Japan since then. She released her first single "Mayonaka no Door" with Sony Music on July 19, 2006. Her song "Mayonaka no Doa" as recorded by Sony Music appeared on television as one of the ending themes to "Damashita! Powerpuff Girls Z".
In 2008, she co-starred with
Jackie Chan and Jet Li in The Forbidden Kingdom, a martial arts adventure movie in which she played Golden Sparrow, an orphan seeking revenge against her parents' killer. In her quest, she is teamed up with the drunken immortal (played by Jackie Chan) and the silent monk (played by Jet Li).
